The IB Diploma Program is an advanced level two-year curriculum offered to high school students at select high schools. To receive credit students must have official examination results sent to Enrollment Services at 敁珗辦畦 Southern University. We accept IB credit from students who score well on their Higher Level (HL) examinations for the courses listed below. IB courses not listed may be considered for possible credit by the appropriate academic department if a minimum score of “5” is earned on the HL examination. While there is no specific limit on the number of credit hours we will award for IB courses, this nontraditional credit is subject to 敁珗辦畦 “Transfer Credit” policy. Students will not be awarded duplicate credit in the event acceptable scores for the same subject are presented from Advanced Placement or other subject examinations.

The University has a program by which a current student might be permitted to challenge a course listed in the current catalog and earn credit for that course unless the course description indicates otherwise. A Challenge Exam is a special final exam developed and given by the appropriate department*. In some cases, the student is also required to complete papers and/or participate in a presentation or other learning activities.

* NOTE: When a special standardized exam is administered by a 敁珗辦畦 department as the final exam for a subject, the same exam may be used as a Challenge Exam. Example: The Chemistry department uses exams developed by the American Chemical Society (ACS).
